Plan Ahead
Planning travel to other countries?  It is recommended that you receive travel immunizations (vaccines) to protect yourself from disease that may exist in other parts of the world.  To determine what travel immunizations are needed you should schedule a travel consultation.  Schedule travel consultations at least 1-3 months prior to your scheduled departure.  Some immunizations take up to six months to complete the entire series.

Travel Consultation
A travel consultation is an appointment with a nurse to review your travel destinations and what medications and immunizations might be needed to keep you healthy.  The appointment typically lasts 45-60 minutes.  During the appointment the nurse will review current/past medical history, current medications and will prescribe and administer required/recommended immunizations based on your travel itinerary.

Saint Paul - Ramsey County Public Health offers a limited number of travel consultations.
Call 651.266.1234 to schedule an appointment, ask about payment or have general questions answered.

You can also schedule a travel consultation with your regular doctor or clinic.

Travel Immunizations
If you are a seasoned traveler, you can request needed immunizations from your regular doctor or medical clinic.  If your regular doctor or clinic do not carry travel immunizations, ask for a prescription listing the immunizations needed.  You may then receive the needed immunizations at our walk-in immunization clinic.
