Imagine a preschool where it is not only encouraged, but expected to roll down a hill in cushions of autumn leaves, look for tadpoles in the pond, or follow fox tracks in the snow! Imagine a preschool where basic skills and concepts are learned through a nature-based curriculum. Imagine a preschool where creativity, curiosity and wonder are inspired by the natural world. Adding a new twist to the typical early childhood curriculum, the program at Tamarack Nature Center revolves around nature--learning from it, about it and within it. We are pleased to be partnering with White Bear Lake Area Schools in providing Early Childhood and Family Education (ECFE) and Play and Learn Preschool experiences at Tamarack Nature Center.
Play and Learn Preschool classes for 3, 4, and 5-year olds meet one, two or three half-days per week: Tu/Th A.M., Tu/Th P.M., Mon/Wed P.M., or Fri P.M. or M/W/F P.M. Classes run from September through May. There are two semesters, each runs for 15 weeks.
Early Childhood and Family Education classes for 2 1/2 - 4 year olds and a parent meet one half day per week on either Monday or Wednesday morning. Parent/child partners spend time exploring both indoors and out in nature. There are two semesters during the September through May school year. Each semester runs 15 weeks.
