Course Description

The Ponds at Battle Creek Golf Course is a 9-hole, par 35 golf facility with a significant practice/teaching range. The golf course development and operation is a joint effort of the Ramsey County Community Corrections and Parks and Recreation departments. Inmate labor is utilized for ongoing maintenance of the facility grounds and buildings. The use of inmate labor is part of the Productive Day Program employed by the Community Corrections Department.

This parkland prairie-style course features multiple tee placements to attract players of all skill levels. The unique landscape offers the challenge and beauty of sixteen ponds, flatlands and dramatic hillside vistas.

A large putting green is featured at the front entrance of the course. A unique and separate practice chipping area provides golfers an opportunity to work on their short game.  The quaint farm-style clubhouse overlooks the entire course and preserves the historic rural tradition of the site.  Indoor and outdoor patio seating provides comfort and relaxation while golfers enjoy their favorite beverage and a snack after a fun round of golf.

Construction was completed in summer 2003 and the course opened in spring 2004. Visit the site and observe the care given to protecting and enhancing the sensitive wetlands on this beautiful property. This golf facility is a model development in the art of addressing environmental issues while providing an active recreational opportunity for all to enjoy.
