Activity Assistant (Care Center) l 651.777.7486 l more information
To assist the Activity Department staff to enhance the quality of the activity program offered to residents. Volunteers must be at least 12 years of age.

Befriender (Care Center) l 651.777.7486 l more information
To provide companionship to an individual resident through regular visits ie: playing game/cards, taking them for a walk or simply talking with them. Volunteers must be at least 14 years of age.

Canteen Clerk (Care Center) l 651.777.7486 l more information
To staff the in house store where residents may purchase snacks and a limited supply of care and gift items. Volunteers must be at least 15 years of age.

Child Care/Nursery Assistant (Human Services) l 651.266.4090 l more information
1,2 we're ready for you. 3,4 open the door...assist agency staff in providing supervision and care for the children of clients whom must wait while their parents attend support groups or counseling sessions. Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age. Downtown St. Paul and Midway locations.

Assist naturalists in the delivery of programs on weekends and evenings. Youth would assist with activities such as crafts and games. Programs available for youth, do not occur every weekend, but do occur through out the year. Volunteers must be at least 11 years of age.

Dining Room Host/Hostess (Care Center) l 651.777.7486 l more information
To supplement nursing staff in providing one to one attention and assistance to residents, in the main dining room, at meal times (no feeding of residents is involved). Volunteers must be at least 15 years of age.

Youth ages 14-20 who are interested in exploring a possible career in Law Enforcement. Perform community service details as well as train for competition.

Frequent Flier/Office Assistant (Human Services)  l 651.266.4090 l more information
Provide supplementary and auxiliary clerical services to agency staff. We offer flexible scheduling at our downtown St. Paul and Midway offices. Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age.

Junior Naturalist (Tamarack Nature Center) l 651.407.5350 l more information
Assist summer naturalists with day camp activities such as games, hikes, crafts and other projects. This program occurs June through August with training taking place in mid-June. Volunteers must be at least 11 years of age.

Assists patrons at check out. Assists staff with checking in book drop materials and sorting. Available at all library locations. Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age.

To visit residents with dogs and/or cats allowing physical contact with animals to provide sensory stimulation and opportunities for reminiscence and socialization. Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age.

To provide musical entertainment to residents prior to meal times. Volunteers must be at least 15 years of age.

Checks materials on shelves to determine whether or not they are proper order. If materials are out of order, the volunteer returns them to the proper location. May involve searching for items with a missing, lost, or requested status. Available at all library locations. Volunteers must be at least 13 years of age.

Returns materials such as videocassettes, talking books, books, periodicals, and pamphlets to shelves. Available at all library locations. Volunteers must be at least 13 years of age.

Assist with seasonal festivals doing a variety of activities such as games, crafts or face painting. Volunteers must be at least 11 years of age.

Provide telephone answering service Mondays during the day and occasional evenings and weekends. Volunteers must be at least 15 years of age.

To provide an escort or transportation to and from in house therapies (Occupational and Physical Therapies) for confused or wheelchair bound residents. Volunteers must be at least 14 years of age.
