Imagine yourself in a country where you don't speak the language and need help assist human services staff to effectively and efficiently serve non-English speaking clients by translating and reverse translating Hmong, Cambodian, Vietnamese, Russian, Somali, or Spanish and English and perform related duties as assigned.  Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age.

Medical and public health-related professionals needed to assist the Saint Paul – Ramsey County Public Health Department staff in dispensing life-saving drugs during a public health emergency.  Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age.

To provide information to inmates on the benefits of meditation teach relaxation techniques to help manage stress. The volunteer provides knowledge about anxiety, anger, depression and techniques to help clients with these health concerns.

This volunteer position requires patience, creativity and the willingness to work with a team of volunteers assigned to create eight resident photo albums for each one of the residents of the LOR Houses.  Scrap booking techniques will be used to trim, mount and display photos with some text or dates.

Help staff the 24-hour Hotline.  Provides crisis counseling, information and referrals to callers.  Respond to medical outreach requests from hospitals to provide face-to-face advocacy for victims of sexual assault at emergency rooms.

Checks materials on shelves to determine whether or not they are proper order.  If materials are out of order, the volunteer returns them to the proper location.  May involve searching for items with a missing, lost, or requested status.  Available at all library locations.  Volunteers must be at least 13 years of age.

Tour guide for Court House, Art Deco building including Vision of Peace Statue, Memorial Hall, Mayor’s Office, Council Chambers, Courtroom, Law Library and more.  Tours are given to many children, classrooms, adults, seniors, visitors to the area and more.  Tour length ranges from 45 minutes to 2 hours depending on group. Training and information book given to volunteers.
