FirstHOME Program Funding

Ramsey County Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA)/Community and Economic Development (CED) is pleased to announce that the FirstHOME Buyer Assistance Program is back in business. FirstHOME funds of about $350,000 are available in the fiscal year starting July 1, 2011.  Fund commitments are make on a first-come, first-served basis.

FirstHome has been used by 225 first-time homebuyers since it began in 2000-a program investment of nearly $2.5M.

During this time, there have been dramatic shifts in the real estate market and in the economy overall. The FirstHOME program is changing to reflect the changing marketplace:

  • The maximum assistance available per property is reduced to $10,000 to enable greater participation despite fewer funds being available.
  • Income Limits have also fallen slightly

Refer to the FirstHOME Fact Sheet for more information about the program and if you qualify, ask your lender to reserve funds.
